Senior API Software Engineer

The Senior API Software Engineer is a key member of the API & Integration organization. This organization is the primary point of contact for all API integration efforts in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. You will work directly with developers at third party companies that are developing integrations from their systems to any of the Pelco by Schneider Electric systems.

Job description
The Senior API Software Engineer is a key member of the API and integration organization. You will be the primary point of contact for all integration efforts in the EMEA region, both internally and externally. You will work closely with our software developers and developers in video security systems world wide. As a Senior API Software Engineer you will also support the development of the customer´s applications that will utilize and interface with our equipment using SDK tools and APIs. Development of use cases and sample code based on needs identified by working with our integration partners is a key function for this role. You will report to the EMEA Integrations Operations Manager on a regular basis. As a Senior API Software Engineer you will be the one that drives resolution of issues requiring cross-group collaboration and provide technical assistance and design consultation by phone, email and face to face contact.

Qualifications
We are looking for a person that has a bachelor’s or master's degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related area. You have a background in software development and you are proficient in at least two object-oriented programming languages such as C#, C++ and JAVA. You have a structured approach to debugging and troubleshooting practices and you are strong in both verbal and written communication. You have a good understanding of a service business in a high tech environment, from a supplies, integrator or end users point of view. It is an advantage if you have good knowledge of video security systems and components. As a Senior API Software Engineer you have knowledge in TCP and UDP network protocols as well as Unicast and Multicast routing protocols.
