European Financial Controller

This new role, on VP level, will be responsible for the management of the finance control function outside the United States; Sweden, UK, Finland, the Baltics and Australia, in total approximately 50 employees. The new control function will be located in Stockholm and report to the Corporate Controller in New York. The responsibility includes legal vehicle reporting, accounting operations, accounting policy and taxes. The Financial Controller will work closely with external and internal auditors and regulators and will also support the Country Head of Sweden. To serve the local boards outside US with financial statements and present them to the local boards will be another responsibility. Now and then the Financial Controller will be part of meetings with Investors in Europe together with the Corporate CFO.

The daily work is to lead and develop the accounting function outside US - motivate, manage and lead the local Accounting Managers to find synergies and make the functions outside US more effective. As NASDAQ OMX just implemented a new system (PeopleSoft) – the Financial Controller will look at coordinating controls after the implementation. The international role frequently involves some travel.

We are looking for a qualified finance professional with experience in accounting, finance control and reporting in a multinational company on management team level. We expect experience from leadership in working through other leaders and dealing with cultural diversity. Experience from centralizing a function is preferable. Besides experience from an international company we would appreciate a background in an audit consulting company. Experience from public accounting arena as well as from working with regulators is also preferable. Good knowledge in IFRS and Swedish GAAP is a must and US GAAP is good to have but not necessary. We expect good language skills in Swedish and English.
